David Blesses Solomon the New King
Aged King David rests his hands on the shoulders of his kneeling son Solomon, who wears a jeweled crown, in a palace hall.
Prompt
Psalm 72 (a Psalm for Solomon): "Give the king your judgments, O God, and your righteousness to the king's son. He shall judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with judgment... The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended." In the palace hall, the aged, white-bearded King David, frail but radiant, rests both hands on the shoulders of his son Solomon and prays over him; the young King Solomon, newly crowned, in rich royal robes and a golden crown, kneels before his father with his head bowed in humility. Father and son are large and central. Warm golden light streams in from a high window behind them onto the cedar-panelled hall. Style: a blend of photo-realism and cinema, like a still from a big-budget film. Bright, rich, saturated, luminous colour, clear daylight or glowing golden light even in dramatic scenes, never murky or muddy, crisp detail, real human faces full of emotion, shallow depth of field, subtle film grain. Simple, uncluttered composition: ONE clear scene from this chapter, with the chapter's main character or characters large, close and central in the upper and middle frame, and a simple background. No montage, no collage, no inset vignettes, no crowd of small figures competing for attention. Historically accurate ancient Near Eastern clothing, architecture and landscape. Keep the bottom quarter of the frame simple and uncluttered (ground, water or sky) so a large chapter number can be set over it. Absolutely no text, no letters, no words, no numbers, no logos, no watermark, no border, no frame.
