Genesis 15: God brings Abram outside his tent at night and tells him to count the stars, for so shall his descendants be. Abram stands large and central outside his goat-hair tent, face lifted in wonder toward a vast, brilliant sky blazing with countless stars and the glowing Milky Way, one hand raised toward the heavens. The night is luminous deep blue and silver, the desert hills softly lit. The mood is awe, faith and promise. Style: a blend of photo-realism and cinema, like a still from a big-budget film.
