David Prays at Dawn Facing the Tabernacle
David kneels on a terrace with open raised hands as the sun rises. The tent of the ark glows with rising smoke on a hill beyond.
Prompt
Psalm 5: "My voice shall you hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer to you, and will look up... in your fear will I worship toward your holy temple." King David kneels at first light on a palace terrace in Jerusalem, his hands open and raised, his face lifted toward the sunrise in earnest prayer. The king is large and central, seen in three-quarter view, his royal mantle around his shoulders and a gold circlet on his head. Beyond him, on the hill of Zion, the tent sheltering the ark of the LORD glows in the rose and gold light of dawn, with a thin column of smoke rising from the morning sacrifice. Style: a blend of photo-realism and cinema, like a still from a big-budget film. Bright, rich, saturated, luminous colour, clear daylight or glowing golden light even in dramatic scenes, never murky or muddy, crisp detail, real human faces full of emotion, shallow depth of field, subtle film grain. Simple, uncluttered composition: ONE clear scene from this chapter, with the chapter's main character or characters large, close and central in the upper and middle frame, and a simple background. No montage, no collage, no inset vignettes, no crowd of small figures competing for attention. Historically accurate ancient Near Eastern clothing, architecture and landscape. Keep the bottom quarter of the frame simple and uncluttered (ground, water or sky) so a large chapter number can be set over it. Absolutely no text, no letters, no words, no numbers, no logos, no watermark, no border, no frame.
