Ahimelech Gives David the Bread and Goliath's Sword
David takes the great sword of Goliath from its cloth as the priest Ahimelech holds out loaves of bread.
Prompt
1 Samuel 21: Fleeing alone from Saul, David comes to the priest Ahimelech at Nob, who gives him the hallowed bread and the great sword of Goliath, unwrapped from its cloth. David, a weary fugitive in a dusty travel cloak, stands large and central, gripping the hilt of the huge sword of Goliath as he takes it, its cloth wrapping falling away. Ahimelech the priest, in white linen garments, stands close facing him, holding out a few round loaves of bread, his face anxious. Behind them, softly out of focus, the woven curtain of the sanctuary at Nob and, half-hidden in the shadow of a doorway, a watching herdsman. Clear bright morning light; urgent, secretive mood. Style: a blend of photo-realism and cinema, like a still from a big-budget film. Bright, rich, saturated, luminous colour, clear daylight or glowing golden light even in dramatic scenes, never murky or muddy, crisp detail, real human faces full of emotion, shallow depth of field, subtle film grain. Simple, uncluttered composition: ONE clear scene from this chapter, with the chapter's main character or characters large, close and central in the upper and middle frame, and a simple background. No montage, no collage, no inset vignettes, no crowd of small figures competing for attention. Historically accurate ancient Near Eastern clothing, architecture and landscape. Keep the bottom quarter of the frame simple and uncluttered (ground, water or sky) so a large chapter number can be set over it. Absolutely no text, no letters, no words, no numbers, no logos, no watermark, no border, no frame.
