David Prays at an Altar Before Battle
A king in armour kneels with clasped hands beside a stone altar where a burnt offering blazes, his helmet on the ground. Soldiers with banners stand behind him and enemy chariots wait far off.
Prompt
Psalm 20: "The LORD hear you in the day of trouble... remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt sacrifice... Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God." On the morning of battle, King David kneels in armour beside a rough stone altar in the field where a burnt offering blazes, his helmet set down beside him and his head bowed in prayer; behind him his foot soldiers raise plain cloth banners on poles. The king and the altar fire are large and central. Far across the plain, a line of enemy war chariots and horses waits in the dust, small in the distance. Clear morning sky, golden light and rising smoke. Style: a blend of photo-realism and cinema, like a still from a big-budget film. Bright, rich, saturated, luminous colour, clear daylight or glowing golden light even in dramatic scenes, never murky or muddy, crisp detail, real human faces full of emotion, shallow depth of field, subtle film grain. Simple, uncluttered composition: ONE clear scene from this chapter, with the chapter's main character or characters large, close and central in the upper and middle frame, and a simple background. No montage, no collage, no inset vignettes, no crowd of small figures competing for attention. Historically accurate ancient Near Eastern clothing, architecture and landscape. Keep the bottom quarter of the frame simple and uncluttered (ground, water or sky) so a large chapter number can be set over it. Absolutely no text, no letters, no words, no numbers, no logos, no watermark, no border, no frame.
