Sailors Mourn as Tyre Burns
A Phoenician ship with a horse-head prow and striped sail rides blue water while a sailor cries out. The island city of Tyre burns in the distance.
Prompt
Isaiah 23: Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in. A Phoenician merchant ship with a horse-head prow and a striped square sail sails on the bright blue sea, its whole wooden hull clearly visible riding on top of the waves. On its raised deck, behind the railing, a weathered sailor stands large and central gripping the rigging and crying out in grief, with two shipmates beside him, as far across the water the island city of Tyre, with its plain stone walls, flat-roofed houses and harbour, burns under rising black smoke. Brilliant sunlight on the sea, dramatic contrast of blue water and dark smoke. The men wear wrapped turbans or head-cloths over their hair. Style: a blend of photo-realism and cinema, like a still from a big-budget film. Bright, rich, saturated, luminous colour, clear daylight or glowing golden light even in dramatic scenes, never murky or muddy, crisp detail, real human faces full of emotion, shallow depth of field, subtle film grain. Simple, uncluttered composition: ONE clear scene from this chapter, with the chapter's main character or characters large, close and central in the upper and middle frame, and a simple background. No montage, no collage, no inset vignettes, no crowd of small figures competing for attention. Historically accurate ancient Near Eastern clothing, architecture and landscape. Keep the bottom quarter of the frame simple and uncluttered (ground, water or sky) so a large chapter number can be set over it. Absolutely no text, no letters, no words, no numbers, no logos, no watermark, no border, no frame.
