Babylonians Drag Away the Temple Pillar Capital
Three soldiers haul on ropes to drag a great bronze pillar capital ringed with pomegranates across wooden rollers. Smoke rises from the ruined temple behind them.
Prompt
Jeremiah 52: 'the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD... the Chaldeans brake, and carried all the brass of them to Babylon.' In the ruined temple court of Jerusalem, three Babylonian soldiers, large and central, strain on thick ropes to drag away the toppled bronze capital of a temple pillar: a great rounded bowl-shaped bronze crown wrapped in chain-network and ringed with rows of bronze pomegranates, lying on wooden rollers. Behind them the other tall bronze pillar still stands beside the temple porch, and smoke rises from the burned temple. Bright hazy daylight; non-graphic. The men wear wrapped turbans or head-cloths over their hair. Style: a blend of photo-realism and cinema, like a still from a big-budget film. Bright, rich, saturated, luminous colour, clear daylight or glowing golden light even in dramatic scenes, never murky or muddy, crisp detail, real human faces full of emotion, shallow depth of field, subtle film grain. Simple, uncluttered composition: ONE clear scene from this chapter, with the chapter's main character or characters large, close and central in the upper and middle frame, and a simple background. No montage, no collage, no inset vignettes, no crowd of small figures competing for attention. Historically accurate ancient Near Eastern clothing, architecture and landscape. Keep the bottom quarter of the frame simple and uncluttered (ground, water or sky) so a large chapter number can be set over it. Absolutely no text, no letters, no words, no numbers, no logos, no watermark, no border, no frame.
