Asaph Calm in the Sanctuary Court
A Levite with cymbals at his belt stands by the altar smoke, and a distant banquet is visible through the gate.
Prompt
Psalm 73 (a Psalm of Asaph): "I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked... When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end... It is good for me to draw near to God." Asaph, the Levite singer, stands in the quiet court of the LORD's sanctuary in his white linen robe, his cymbals hanging from his belt, his troubled face now calm and enlightened as he looks back through the open gateway. He is large and central. Through the gate behind him, a rich man's banquet on a distant rooftop is seen, small and fading in hazy shadow, while Asaph himself stands in warm, clear golden evening light near the altar smoke. Style: a blend of photo-realism and cinema, like a still from a big-budget film. Bright, rich, saturated, luminous colour, clear daylight or glowing golden light even in dramatic scenes, never murky or muddy, crisp detail, real human faces full of emotion, shallow depth of field, subtle film grain. Simple, uncluttered composition: ONE clear scene from this chapter, with the chapter's main character or characters large, close and central in the upper and middle frame, and a simple background. No montage, no collage, no inset vignettes, no crowd of small figures competing for attention. Historically accurate ancient Near Eastern clothing, architecture and landscape. Keep the bottom quarter of the frame simple and uncluttered (ground, water or sky) so a large chapter number can be set over it. Absolutely no text, no letters, no words, no numbers, no logos, no watermark, no border, no frame.
