2 Corinthians 13: 'Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace... Greet one another with an holy kiss.' At the close of the letter's reading in a Corinthian house church, two men who had quarrelled embrace and greet each other with the kiss of peace, large and central, faces moved; around them other believers clasp hands warmly, the reader still holding the rolled papyrus scroll.
